Residential Drug Rehabilitation

Drug rehab programs residential are treatments that you attend on a more or less volunteer basis. The facility will provide a room and board for the time of the individual is in recovery.

Drug rehab residential are recommended for Drug addicted persons or Alcoholic that have a severe Addiction. Different than Drug programs outpatient, the individual does not return to his own environment. The residential option is a better one for the reason that the individual does not go back in to the environment that triggers him. The environment has always been a big factor for an addicted person. Just the fact that you pull someone off of his trigger is therapeutic by itself. Unfortunately, this is not enough and it does not last.

Drug rehab services has done some research through some different residential programs.

There are different locations, a great number of programs, different durations for each residential programs. How do you sort this out?

The questions to ask yourself when you wnat to choose a program are:

What is the philosophy of the program about dependency?

If the program tell you that it cannot be cured, he will live with it all his life, he will relapse, then the facility is just telling that his success rate is not really good.

The second important question is:

What is their success rate for people that graduate their program?

What you are looking for is to find out if their program works. If they give you a vague answer such as 'it is hard to measure' It does not look good. Either they have a really low success rate or their aftercare or follow up is really poor. The success rate, when the treatment has a good one will be the first thing that the program will promote. Don`t let anyone give you some vague answers or not answer your question.

You need to know what is the Staff/Patient ratio.

In our investigation, We have got different ratio. From 1staff/ 10 patient to 1staff/ 1 patient.

Also the duration of the program therapy is a factor. You need enough for the individual to address what will bring him to his new life.

All of the above can seem confusing. When there is a crisis, it can be hard to think clearly and we want to take the best decision possible.
